Microsoft 365 & Entra Admin Center URLs (and Why Your Bookmarks Keep Breaking)
You go to the admin portal you’ve used for years and… it’s moved, renamed, or just redirects somewhere unfamiliar. Microsoft reorganizes its admin centers constantly (Azure AD → Entra, Endpoint Manager → Intune, the Security & Compliance Center split into Defender + Purview, and the Exchange admin center moved under cloud.microsoft). Here are the current URLs, plus what each replaced so your old bookmarks make sense.
Current admin center URLs
| Admin center | Current URL | What it manages / what it replaced |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 admin center | admin.microsoft.com | Users, groups, licenses, domains — the main hub |
| Microsoft Entra admin center | entra.microsoft.com | Identity & access — replaced the Azure AD portal (aad.portal.azure.com) |
| Exchange admin center (EAC) | admin.cloud.microsoft/exchange | Email/mailflow — old admin.exchange.microsoft.com now redirects here |
| Teams admin center | admin.teams.microsoft.com | Teams policies, phone, meetings |
| SharePoint admin center | [tenant]-admin.sharepoint.com | SharePoint/OneDrive — tenant-specific (reach it via M365 admin → Admin centers) |
| Microsoft Defender portal | security.microsoft.com | Security — part of the old Security & Compliance Center |
| Microsoft Purview portal | purview.microsoft.com | Compliance/data governance — was compliance.microsoft.com |
| Microsoft Intune admin center | intune.microsoft.com | Devices & apps — was Endpoint Manager (endpoint.microsoft.com) |
| Azure portal | portal.azure.com | Azure resources, subscriptions |
Why they keep moving
It’s mostly rebrands and consolidation:
- Azure AD → Microsoft Entra ID — identity management moved to its own
entra.microsoft.comportal. - Endpoint Manager → Intune — back to the Intune name at
intune.microsoft.com. - Security & Compliance Center → Defender + Purview — split into two portals (
security.microsoft.comandpurview.microsoft.com). - Unification under
cloud.microsoft— Microsoft is pulling admin experiences onto one domain, which is why the Exchange admin center now lives atadmin.cloud.microsoft/exchange(the legacyadmin.exchange.microsoft.comredirects there, with full redirection rolling out through 2026).
The shortcut: stop memorizing them
Rather than bookmark all of these (and re-bookmark them next time Microsoft moves one), use cmd.ms — type the portal name as a subdomain in your address bar and it takes you straight there:
entra.cmd.ms→ Entra admin centerexchange.cmd.ms→ Exchange admin centeradmin.cmd.ms→ Microsoft 365 admin centerintune.cmd.ms,security.cmd.ms,purview.cmd.ms→ the rest
(It’s maintained by a Microsoft Entra product manager.) More vetted utilities like this are on our Tools & Resources page.
FAQ
My old aad.portal.azure.com / Azure AD bookmark stopped working. Azure AD is now Microsoft Entra ID — use entra.microsoft.com.
admin.exchange.microsoft.com looks different or redirects. The Exchange admin center moved to admin.cloud.microsoft/exchange; the old URL now redirects there.
Where did the Security & Compliance Center go? It was split — security lives in Microsoft Defender (security.microsoft.com), compliance in Microsoft Purview (purview.microsoft.com).
endpoint.microsoft.com (Endpoint Manager)? It’s the Intune admin center now: intune.microsoft.com.
