System Tray Icons Hidden in Windows 11? Show All the Corner Icons

Some app icons no longer sit in the bottom-right corner of the Windows 11 taskbar — they’re hidden behind a small arrow (the “Show hidden icons” menu).

Why: Windows 11 keeps most background-app icons in a hidden icon menu (the corner overflow) to save space. Each icon has its own on/off switch, so you decide which ones stay visible in the taskbar corner and which hide until they need attention.

Fix 1: Click the “Show hidden icons” arrow

The fastest way to see everything is the arrow itself.

1. Look at the far-right corner of the taskbar, just left of the clock, for a small upward-pointing arrow (Show hidden icons).
2. Click it. A small flyout opens showing every icon currently tucked away.
3. From here you can click any icon to use it — or drag an icon out of the flyout onto the taskbar corner to keep it permanently visible.

If you don’t see the arrow at all, no icons are hidden yet, or the hidden menu is turned off (see Fix 3).

Fix 2: Choose which icons always show

To pin specific app icons to the corner so they never hide:

1. Right-click an empty part of the taskbar and choose Taskbar settings (or open Settings > Personalization > Taskbar).
2. Expand Other system tray icons.
3. You’ll see a list of apps that put an icon in the corner — Microsoft Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, your antivirus, and so on. Turn the toggle On for each app you want visible at all times.
4. Turn a toggle Off to send that icon back into the hidden menu.

You can also just drag: pull an icon from the hidden flyout down onto the corner to show it, or drag a corner icon up into the flyout to hide it.

Fix 3: Turn the hidden icon menu on or off

If the overflow arrow is missing or you’d rather have no hidden menu:

1. Open Settings > Personalization > Taskbar > Other system tray icons.
2. Use the Hidden icon menu toggle at the top of that section to switch the overflow arrow on or off.

With it on, any app whose toggle is Off lands in the flyout. With it off, those icons simply don’t appear in the corner.

Where are the “pen menu”, “touch keyboard”, and “virtual touchpad” toggles? Those live one section up, under System tray icons in the same Taskbar settings page. They’re separate from third-party app icons.
