Your iPhone won’t connect over Bluetooth to your car, headphones, speaker, or another accessory — it either won’t pair at all or refuses to reconnect.

Why: The usual causes are mundane — the accessory isn’t in pairing mode, it’s out of range or low on battery, or there’s a stale pairing on file. Apple’s troubleshooting handles those basics before anything heavier.

Fix 1: Get the basics right

Keep the iPhone and the accessory close together while connecting.
Make sure the accessory is on and fully charged or plugged in — low battery causes flaky pairing.
Turn the accessory off and back on again.
For a first-time pairing, put the accessory in discovery (pairing) mode — for headphones or a speaker that’s usually holding a button until an LED flashes; for a car, start the Bluetooth pairing setup on the car’s display. Check the accessory or car manual for the exact step.

Fix 2: Toggle Bluetooth and restart

Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off. Wait about 5 seconds, then turn it back on.
